8,000 picture postcards of the Bavarian Forest, collected over three generations, in the archive of the Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte since 2023: the photo exhibition in the Eschergasse foyer of the museum presents almost 50 images. At the center: the Waidler themselves, framed by views of the town.
From 25 July in the museum foyer in Eschergasse, admission is free!
The Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte is bringing a Bavarian cultural asset to the museum: playing cards from Bavaria and card playing itself. The exhibition uses historically significant exhibits to show the development of Bavarian playing cards from their beginnings in the 14th century to the present day.
from May 31, 2025 to April 19, 2026
As a continuation and extension of the photo exhibition "People in the Bavarian Forest 1900-1950", aspects of life in the Bavarian Forest at that time are staged in three dimensions. The stories are based on the latest research by our director Dr. Richard Loibl.
