Our Bavarian State Exhibition at the TonYversum in Freyung in 2026 offers a musical spectacle for all senses. You can experience the musical state of Bavaria in all its diversity. Traditional folk music as well as punk and rock, classical music, world-class orchestras and festivals, pop events and musical cabaret... - acoustically, it will be full on!
Great cinema right at the start of the exhibition: In the multiplex in the Stadtplatzcenter, you enter via a powerful-sounding and touching film story. Immediately afterwards, a sound bridge leads over to the TonYversum for the big stage show: Music in Bavaria with all senses. It continues with a musical journey through time from the Middle Ages to the present day. Visitors will encounter the famous and the rather unknown, precious and curious originals from the crumhorn to the jukebox, sound spaces and interactive audio worlds. They can try out instruments, conduct themselves, practise dance steps and cool rhythms or simply marvel at how much Bavaria has enriched the world history of music.
Participation is a top priority. Live acts are part of it: concerts in halls and churches, town squares and forest clearings await you every day in Freyung and the region, as well as the unique nature of the Bavarian Forest.
