Baroque festival of culture
For an entire weekend from Friday, July 7 to Sunday, July 9, the House of Bavarian History in Regensburg will be focusing on "Baroque" in all its diversity. The spectacular start on Friday is provided by "Barock - The AC/DC Tribute Show" - pure and energetic rock'n'roll at the open-air concert on the Donaumarkt - and with free admission!
The "Baroque Festival of Culture" will be officially opened on Saturday lunchtime with musical accompaniment from the "Academic Brass". A huge baroque-style cake is distributed to guests piece by piece free of charge - while stocks last. Stilt walkers, perfume designers and soap makers, storytellers and much more will whisk you away into the world of the Baroque. There are even baroque gardens in front of the Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte.
Immersed in a sea of lights, the second open-air concert of the weekend takes place on Saturday evening with "Beats per Munich". Modern "baroque pop" by Queen, Coldplay and Falco is completely reinterpreted with classical string instruments.
Afterwards, "Ströme" transforms the foyer of the museum into a nightclub, where you can dance and party until 4 am. Two analog modular synthesizers without computers or samples become the center of the creative work of "Ströme " - on baroque electro beats through the summer night.
On Sunday there is the puppet show "Puss in Boots", storytellers and a wonderful end to the festival for the whole family.
Admission to the entire program is free for the "Baroque Festival of Culture" from Friday to Sunday. This includes the museum and the Bavarian-Czech state exhibition: Admission is free here too!
There will also be free guided tours throughout the weekend, starting at 10 a.m. and taking place every hour on the hour through the permanent exhibition and every half hour through the state exhibition.
