The State Exhibition 2025 "Ludwig I - Bavaria's Greatest King?" is a special kind of extracurricular place of learning!
Whether as a link to lessons or as the destination of a hiking day: unique original objects, extraordinary media and hands-on stations as well as gripping productions convey the events during the reign of King Ludwig I (1825-1848). Youth groups and school classes can look forward to a varied program that ties in with the curricula of various subject areas and school types.
Pupils embark on a journey back in time to the Kingdom of Bavaria, which was experiencing a period of upheaval. During Ludwig I's reign over Bavaria, many areas of life underwent change: Industrialization and mechanization, numerous elaborate building projects throughout the kingdom, medical and scientific progress, a resurgence of religiosity and the creation of a sense of history along with a Bavarian identity - and the king was always right in the middle of it all. His style of government was characterized by a turn towards the new and at the same time a backward-looking approach. The people did not always agree with him and became increasingly aware that a certain amount of power also rested with him.
