The king goes on tour

Spot on ... he's back ... the king enters the stage! 200 years ago, Ludwig I ascended the throne of the Kingdom of Bavaria. For the Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte in 2025, this is the occasion to put the spotlight of the Bavarian State Exhibition on the political work of that Bavarian king!

And that's not all: King Ludwig I himself will go on a short tour of the state exhibition. Together with the beautiful Lola Montez, the scandalous Spanish dancer who ultimately cost him his throne in 1848 after 22 years of regency. Also on board is a “Stoahauer” called Georg, who played an active role at the time, helping to build historic buildings such as the Walhalla in Donaustauf and the Ruhmeshalle in Munich with his own hands. He was able to report first-hand on the worries of the common people.

During the Bavarian State Exhibition, the group around King Ludwig I will perform at a number of folk, town and civic festivals in Bavaria and even take part in the Regensburg Marathon.

Lola Montez will be played by Anna Günther and the Regensburg actor Holger Matthias Wilhelm - known from the BR TV series “Dahoam is dahoam.

Ludwig and Lola will tell you about the tour dates themselves here:
