On the Jewish cemetery of Würzburg on Werner-von Siemens-Straße, there is a grove next to the entrance, where the fallen soldiers of World War I and the victims of the nazi-regime are commemorated.

On both sides of the monument the names and dates of death of the fallen soldiers and the deceased are listed in chronological order. On the right side, below the inscription:

On the cemetery, many gravestone commemorate Jewish soldiers who were buried there, or they are commemorated by a special inscription on the grave of a family member.

On the family grave of the STERN family, the following inscription commemorates the buried person:

The inscription on another grave also shows that a victim of war was buried there:

On the grave of the BAUMBLATT family, an inscription commemorates the dead sons:

On the grave of the STEINBERGER family, there is a hardly readable commemorative plaque for the fallen son:

Also the gravestone for ROSA and FRITZ STRAUSS commemorates a fallen son with an inscription:

The inscriptions on several further gravestones show how proud the buried were to be German soliders, and how proudly the showed their belonging to the German respectively the Bavarian army.

On the family grave of the OPPENHEIMER family, you will find the following inscription:

EMANUEL OPPENHEIMER FELDZUGTEILNEHMER 1870/71 IM 9. BAY. I.R. GEB. 18. Nov. 1840 GEST. 17. FEB. 1930.

A further inscription on the family grave of the FREUDENBERGER family shows the pride of the buried soldier of his military rank:

Hier ruht unser lieber Sohn Dr.jur. Julius Freudenberger Leutnant der Reserve geb. 6. September 1895 gest. 15.August 1923

With the following inscription the family probably wanted to point out the willingness to make sacrifices for the "country"

Inside the Tahara-hall, on the left side, you will find the wooden memorial shrine for the members of the student fraternity "Salia" from Würzburg who fell in World war I. Below the coat of arms of the fraternity, you will find the dedication: Unseren im Weltkrieg 1914=1918 gefallenen Kameraden (to our comrades who fell in the World War 1914-1914); below that, military symbols are to be found.
