On the south facade of the
parochial church in Wiesenfeld, there is a memorial for the combatants of
the war in 1870/71. Below the sculpture of a Bavarian lion with a crown and
an Iron Cross, there is a large square black marble plaque with the
following inscription:
Durch wunderbaren Schutz Gottes kehrten sämtliche hiesige
Feldzugs-Soldaten von 1870/71 auf die Fürbitte der himmlischen Gottesmutter,
deren Schutz sich dieselben bei Beginn des Krieges empfohlen hatten,
unversehrt in ihre Heimat zurück.
(under the protection of God and with the
intercession of the Mother of God, whose protection they had asked for when
the war began, all the combatants of 1870/71 from this place safely returned
home)
