Regen (Niederbayern)

The war memorial for the fallen soldiers of the city of Viechtach and the surrounding communities is situated on the south facade of the parcohial church in Viechtach.

On a square column with a sphere on top of it, you will find the following inscription:

1870 – 1871 1914 – 1918 1939 – 1945 ERRICHTET VON DER PFARRGEMEINDE VIECHTACH ZU EHREN IHRER GEFALLENEN HELDENSOEHNE ANNO - DOM. 1922

(1870 – 1871 1914 – 1918 1939 – 1945 erected by the congregation of Viechtach in honour of the fallen heroes, anno - dom. 1922).

On the wall behind that, there are ten commemorative plaques - seven large and three small ones - for the fallen soldiers of Viechtach and its surounding communities. On one of the plaques on the left side, below the inscription: DIE GEFALLENEN DER MARKTGEMEINDE VIECHTACH (the fallen soldiers od Viechtach), among the names you will find the Jewish soldier:

Schwarz Arnold 20. R.I.R. 11. Kp.
