In the center of "Planplatz" in Thüngen, in a well kept area, there is a memorial for the fallen and missing soldiers of World War I. On the front of an obelisk, below the dates 1914-1918, inside an Iron cross, you will find a medaillon, held by two putty. It has the following inscription:

DEN GEFALLENEN HELDEN ZUM EHRENVOLLEN EDENKEN
VON DER DANKBAREN GEMEINDE THÜNGEN

(to the fallen heroes in honorable memory, by the grateful community of Thüngen)

Below it - on all four sides of the monument - the names of the fallen and missing citzens are listed, among them the names of the Jewish members of the community:

On one side of the monument, below a steel helmet in a wreath and the inscription: VERMISST WERDEN (missing), among the names of the missing persons, you will find those of the Jewish soldiers:

Below the names of the fallen soldiers on the front of the square column, you will find the following inscription:

IHR . ALLES . FREUDIG . SETZT . AN . IHRE . EHRE
