The public war memorial for the
fallen soldiers of the wars in 1870/71, 1914/18 and 1939/45 at Scheinfeld,
that was partly renovated after 1945, is situated on Würzburger Straße, in
direction of Würzburg, not far from the exit of the town. In the center of a
memorial site that is planted with trees and shrubs, there is a column with
an Imperial eagle on top of it, for the combatants and fallen soldiers of
the war of unification in 1870/71. Infront of this monument there are three
coffins of stone - one to the left and two to the right of the column. On
metal plaques on top of the coffins, you will find the inscription:
DEN GEFALLENEN UND VERMISSTEN 1914 1918 +
1939 1945 DER STADT SCHEINFELD U. DER GEMEINDEN GRAPPERTSHOFEN u. THIERBERG
(to the fallen and missing soldiers 1914 1918
+ 1939 1945 + of Scheinfeld and the communities of Grappertshofen and

Below this, the names of the fallen soldiers
of both world Wars are listed, among them in the year 1915, the
