In Reichenberg two war
memorials for the fallen soldiers of the two World Wars and for those of the
wars in 1866 and 1870/71 are to be found on a site next to the station.
The top of the older memorial, that is situated
directly next to the road, is in form of an Imperial eagle. Below that,
beneath a Bavarian coat of arms, the names of the combatants and the fallen
soldiers of the wars in 1860 and 1870/71 are commemorated. Among the
soldiers of the war of unification in 1870/71, there are two Jewish
combatants:
Lippm. Hess 9. Inf.
Rgt.
and
Levi Hess 14. Inf.
Rgt.
On the memorial for the fallen soldiers of
the two World Wars, no names are listed.
