| In Poppenlauer, today part of
Maßbach, there is a new war memorial for the fallen soldiers of both World
Wars in the center of the community, between the two churches, near the
townhall. On stylised crosses, next to the dedication: UNSEREN GEFALLENEN
ZUM GEDENKEN 1914–1918 1939–1945 (in memory of our fallen soldiers
1914-1918 1939-1945) the names of the fallen soldiers of both World Wars are
listed. Under the year 1916, the names of the Jewish soldiers: ISIDOR
HEINEMANN SIEGFRIED REIS MAX HEINEMANN are listed.
Below this memorial site, there is a further
memorial for the combatants of the wars in 1866 and 1870/71. We may assume
that also here Jewish soldiers are listed, e.g.:
