The war memorial for the fallen
soldiers of World War I in Neustadt an der Aisch is situated infront of the
municipal cemetery, to the left of Riedfelder Straße, if you are entering
the town from the direction of Würzburg (B8). On a commemorative stone,
consisting of three parts, the names of the fallen and missing soldiers are
listed to the left and the right. The following inscription points out the
reason, why this monument was built:
DIE DANKBARE HEIMAT
NEUSTADT AN DER AISCH 1933 IHREN IM WELTKRIEGE GEFALLENEN SÖHNEN EUER TOD
WAR UNSER LEBEN WACH IN UNS IST EURE KRAFT
(the grateful community of
Neustadt an der Aisch 1933 to their sons who died in the World War / your
death was our life / your power lives in us)
