In Maroldsweisach, there is a war memorial (consisting of several parts) for the fallen soldiers of the wars in 1870/71, 1914/18 and 1939/45, in the center of the village, on Herrenstraße, infront of the protestant church. Behind a column with the inscription:

VON MAROLDSWEISACHS SÖHNEN FOCHTEN IM KRIEG
GEGEN FRANKREICH 1870/71

(the sons of Merolsweisach, who fought in the war against France 1870/71

you will find plaques with the dedication:

DEN HELDENTOD FÜR DAS VATERLAND STARBEN

(they died a heroic death)

On on of the plaques, the name of a Jewish-German soldier can be found:
