In Lichtenfels, there is a war
memorial for the fallen soldiers of World War I in front of the cemetery,
behind the crossing of Friedhofsstraße/Friedhofsweg/Goldbergstraße. Between
two high columns, with a simplified Iron Cross on top, there is a pietà with
the inscription:UNSEREN HELDEN 1914 – 1918 (to our heroes 1914-1918).
On the base of the colums, there are commemorative stones with the names of
the fallen soldiers from Lichtenfels, including those of the Jewish-German
soldiers:
FRITZ . TRAUB . 9.11.14.
26.J.
and
RICHARD . GOSSER . 23.10.
24 J.
