Kleinsteinach, there is a
tasteful new war memorial for the fallen and missing soldiers of both World
Wars in the village center, infront of the church. Below the inscription:
GEFALLENE 1914 –1918 (fallen soldiers 1914-1918), the names of the
fallen soldiers of World war I are commemorated, among them the
Jewish-German soldiers:
1916 MAX NEUMANN
On the base, you find the inscription: DEN
TOTEN FREMDER ERDE (to the dead who rest in foreign soil).
About 1.5 km to the south-east of the village,
not far from the local sporting-grounds, there is a well kept war memorial
for the Jewish fallen soldiers of World War I on the Jewish cemetery. The
monument is for all the communities that used the cemetery. In the center of
the memorial, you find the dedication:
Wie sind gefallen die
Helden, Verloren gegangen die Waffen des Krieges! Sam. 2.K.1.V.27 Zur
Erinnerung an die im Weltkriege 1914–18 auf dem Felde der Ehre Gefallenen
der dem Friedhofsbereich Kleinsteinach angeschlossenen Kultusgemeinden
