In Hofheim, the war memorial for the fallen soldiers of World War I in form of an obelisk with a large
Bavarian lion on top, is situated between the church and the townhall. Below the inscription on the front
DEN IM WELTKRIEG 1914 – 1918 GEFALLENEN SOEHNEN HOFHEIMS (to the sons of
Hofheim who fell in the war 1914-1918) - you will find, on several plaques on all four sides, the names
of the following Jewish victims of war:
