Hof
(Oberfranken)

In Hof, the war memorial for the victims of the two World Wars is to be found in the "Wittelsbacher Park", on Sophienstraße and Bergstraße, not far from the mainstation and the library. Eleven commemorative plaques (all of the same size) have been put up on a wall with a metal statue infront of it. On the central plaque you will find the following inscription

HELDEN DER STADT RUHENDE SAAT MAHNEN ZUR ERNTE KÜNFTIGER TAT.

(heroes of the town / resting seeds / remind us of the harvest of future deeds)

To the left and the right of this, you will find five plaques respectively, on which - in chronological order - the names of the fallen soldiers are listed in alphabetical order. Among the victims, under the year 1915 the name of the Jewish-German soldier:

HAMBURGER THEOD. 27. VIII. ,

On the right side, under the year1918 the name of

ROSENFELD ALBERT 10. IV.
