To the left of the main
entrance to the lutheran church on Hauptstraße in Hessdorf, there is a war
memorial of red sandstone. Below the inscription: ZUM ANDENKEN AN DIE IM
WELTKRIEG 1914–18 GEFALLENEN HELDEN DER GEMEINDE HESSDORF (in memory of
the heroes of the community of Hessdorf, who fell in the World War
1914-1918), the names of the following Jewish soldiers are also listed:
