| Hammelburg, the war memorial
for the fallen soldiers of World War I is situated to the right of the
townhall on market-square, at a hight of about 2 m. Below a sculpture of
St.George, you will find three plaques, on which, in chronological order
(date of death) the names of the fallen and missing soldiers of Hammelburg
are commemorated, among them the Jewish fallen soldiers:
