In the town of Gerolzhofen, the memorial for the fallen soldiers of both Worl Wars is situated next to the church, int the crypt of the "Johanniskapelle", the historic "Beinhaus"(charnel-house).

 

 
gerolzhofen.jpg (33543 Byte) In the middle of the always closed room, there is a coffin in form of a fallen soldier. It has the inscription:

  + UNSEREN OPFERN IM WELTKRIEG 1914 – 1918 + 

On the wall opposite to the road, there are three stone plaques, the inscriptions of which (the names of the fallen soldiers) can hardly be read. To the left, on the wall, a further plaque lists the names of the dead of the war in 18870/71. On the left plaque you will find the name of the Jewish soldier:
