The war memorial for the fallen
soldiers of both World Wars from Markt Floss and the sourrounding
communities, that was erected in 1927, is situated on "Luitpoldplatz"
infront of the lutheran vicarage and
church.
On a large horizontal commemorative stone in form of a square column, a lion
is resting. On the front
side of the memorial, the following inscriptions can be read:DIE TOTEN LEBEN
IHREN
TAPFEREN HELDEN VON 1914–1918 1939–1945 DIE DANKBAREN GEMEINDEN
ERRICHTET A.D. 1927/1959 (the dead are alive-erected by the grateful
communities A.D.
1927/1951, in memory of the brave heroes 1914-1918 1939-1945). The names and
dates of death of
the fallen soldiers are listed under the respective places. Among the names
of the fallen soldiers from
Markt Floss, two Jewish-German soldiers can be found:
