Feuchtwangen
Ansbach (Mittelfranken)

In Feuchtwangen, the war memorial for the fallen soldiers of the two World Wars is situated in the park called "Am Zwinger", on "Untere Torstraße", near the market-square. Now used as a fountain, it is a monument for the fallen soldier of 1939-1945, that lists no names. At a distance of about 50 m, at the northern part of the park, plaques with the names of the fallen soldiers of World war I have been put up on the facade of the town wall.

Among the names of the fallen soldiers, you will find the two Jewish-German soldiers

Oppenheimer Julius 3.IV.15 Bois d’Vly

Oppenheimer Max 20.I.15 Metz

Both names can also be found in the „Ehren-Chronik 1914 – 1918", that was compiled by the former Veteranen- und Kriegerverein. (This is to be found in the town archives).
