In Fechenbach, the war memorial for the soldiers
of both World Wars is situated on the church-square, next to the townhall.
Below an Emperial Eagle and the inscription:
ZUM EWIGEN GEDÄCHTNIS UNSERN IM WELTKRIEG 1914 –
1918 GEFALLENEN HELDEN VON DER DANKBAREN GEMEINDE ERRICHTET IM JAHRE 1938
(in eternal memory, to our fallen heroes, by
the grateful community, erected in 1938)
the names of the fallen soldiers are listed,
giving their date of death. Among them you will find the names of two
Jewish-German soldiers. These names have been added at a later stage. |
