Binswangen's public war
memorial for the fallen soldiers of the two World Wars
is located on the cemetery, to the left of the chapel.
In the center of the memorial complex is a wooden figure
of St.George, with the inscription IN TREUE FEST
(we remain loyal), two coats of arms, with the
inscription: GEWIDMET DEN TAPFEREN HELDEN DER
GEMEINDE (dedicated to the brave heroes of the
community), a lantern and - below that - a further
inscription: GOTT MIT UNS (God be with us). To
the left and the right of the memorial, there are two
wooden plaques, on which small oval metal plaques are
fixed, that give the rank, name, regiment, date and
place of death of the fallen soldiers of both World Wars.
