Bad Brückenau
Bad Kissingen (Unterfranken)
In the town of BAD BRÜCKENAU, there is a war memorial for the fallen soldiers of World War I. Until autumn 1995, it stood on the market-square. Because of the restructuring of this area, it was dismantled and is now stored on a site owned by the city, which is located on the street called "Zum alten FC-Sportplatz". A new location for the monument can only be decided on, after its restoration.

On the centrepiece of the war memorial, all the names of the fallen soldiers from BRÜCKENAU are immortalized: Below an Iron Cross with oak-leaves to both sides, parts of the old inscription can hardly be deciphered:

DIE STADT BRUECKENAU... IHREN GEFALLENEN HELDENSOEHNEN.

(The town of Brueckenau.... to their Heroes, who died in action...)

Below this, the hardly readable names of the fallen soldiers of the town are listed, among them also Jewish-German soldier:

Emil Goldschmidt 27.4.1918
